it's poetry month!
For this project, we're going to MAKE a book using a simple book binding technique. Don't be fooled, though, this project takes finesse. Brush up on your measuring skills, sharpen your eyes for detail, and get in touch with your sensitive side.
First, you will need to select a poet and a poem to use inside your book. Choose from the list below, select your own, or WRITE YOUR OWN POEM.
Langston Hughes
Hafiz
Sylvia Plath
e.e. cummings
Dylan Thomas
Emily Dickens
Maya Angelou
Paul Lawrence Dunbar
Hilda Doolittle
Robert Frost
Margaret Atwood
Emily Bronte
Shel Silverstein
Edgar Allen Poe
Jack Kerouac
Make a new page titled Poetry. By the end of class TBD, post the following on this page:
1. Your chosen poem. Be sure to credit the author.
2. An image of your poet with a label.
3. 3-5 sentences explaining your reaction to the poem. Why do you like it? Of what does it remind you? Is there something you can relate to?
4. Be sure to have related images in the top bar.
So, by the end of class TBD, you should have:
1. Atleast 3 folios designed and ready to print.
2. Three folios that will be used for the covers for your signatures.
3. Your paper choices selected and put into a folder with your name on it
18 pages total= 3 pages for your signature covers + 15 pages for the folios inside each signature cover.
