a killer project.
here's an unfinished version
For this project, you will create a composite face using your knowledge of photoshop and facial anatomy? Remember the veggie face? Remember the pen tool portrait? This is a twisted version of those projects. Look at all the muscles in the face. Think of all the possibilities!
So...what you will need to do is begin with a person as your canvas. It will be easier if you choose someone who is facing directly forward. You will use a series of tools to select, erase, replace, and blend the features of MANY faces. You will need to composite AT LEAST 15 images. This should include the facial features and the muscles underneath the skin (like the furrow of a brow, the muscles around the mouth, the muscles of the neck). You can also think about the torso, the hair, the background, jewelry...However, the biggest part of your grade will be how well you articulate the anatomy. This means you need to spend the most time detailing the face.
You will post this on your Final Exam page. On this page, you will need to post each image that you use to create your composite. That means you should post your images as you use them. Don't wait until the last minute to try to find each image. You will also need to post the final version as a high quality JPEG(LARGE). Be sure to title this and to make sure your top bar has related images.
So...to recap, here is what you will turn in on your Final Exam page:
1. At least 15 images that you used to create the composite.
2. Your finished product as a high quality JPEG
3. A title for your finished product.
3. Related images as your top bar
Here's what you will be graded on:
1. Title
2. Top Bar
3. Original Images
4. Smooth composite technique (selections, erasure, placement, rotation, size)
5. Manipulation of light and shadows (burn and dodge tool)
6. Skin color manipulation (color balance, hue and saturation, sponge tool)
7. Overall effort and detail.
Seniors: YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS!
Underclassmen: This is due June 13, 2013!
