For this project, we will create a portrait using the pen tool to select facial features, shadows, and highlights. Here's how you will proceed:
1. Chose a significant African American figure as the subject of your portrait. This person should be groundbreaking. This person should have real historic significance. Forget Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Biggie, and anyone of the sort...we're looking for historical figures.

2. Create a new page on your WEEBLY site titled pen tool portrait.
3. Post a picture of your selected subject. Also, make sure your top bar has related images.
4. Create a list of 10 interesting facts about your chosen subject. You do not have to write an essay...bullet points will work. However, make sure you spell everything correctly and that your information is in COMPLETE SENTENCES. This should be posted to your WEEBLY page by the end of class on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
5. Use a found image of your subject and the pen tool to create a MONOCHROMATIC portrait. I will demonstrate this in class
6. Post the original photo and your final portrait (label and title these) on your pen tool portrait page by the end of class on Friday, May 24, 2013
